Vivo has launched new smartphone Vivo V50 in V series on February 17, 2025 but Vivo has not launched Vivo V50 Pro along with Vivo V50 maybe it can launch it after some time. Vivo V50 is the successor of Vivo V40 which was released on 3rd July 2024 and now Vivo has released Vivo V50 which is a good smartphone for camera, battery and everything else.

Vivo V series basically focused on high camera quality in the midrange segment which makes the smartphone premium in camera section and now Vivo has also upgraded the cameras in Vivo V50 which are 50MP Zeiss all main cameras and Vivo has added new quad curved display to it which makes the smartphone look more premium and there is also upgrade in battery and other things which we will talk about and we will also compare it with its predecessor Vivo V40 but before this first let's take a look at the key specifications of vivo V50.

1) vivo V50 Design and Colors

Vivo V50 features a new 41° quad curved design with an Aluminum frame and previously Vivo used the side curved design in V40 and this time there is a slight upgrade in the design but only on the front, otherwise the design of the smartphone is almost similar to its predecessor Vivo V40.

Looking at the dimensions, the VivoV 50 measures 163.3 mm (6.43 in) in length, 76.7 mm (3.01 in) in width, and 7.4 mm (0.29 in) / 7.6 mm (0.30 in) in thickness.

Coming to the front, it has a center punch hole camera and a 6.77-inch quad curved display with a screen to body ratio of 88.5% and it has the new Diamond Shield glass protection which is 50% more drop resistant than the previous generation and Vivo has also provided an under display optical fingerprint scanner in it. There is the same camera module on the back but a little bit bigger in size which was used in its previous model vivo V40 and it has dual camera and LED flash and there are two material options on the back first is Glass back which comes with two color options Starry Night, Rose Red which has a thickness of 7.6mm and second is Plastic Composite Sheet which has a thickness of 7.4mm and it has a Titanium Gray color option. Both the material options have different weight the Plastic back variant weighs 189 grams and Glass back variant weighs 199 grams.

There is power on/off and volume buttons on the right side and the left side is empty. There is a microphone on the top and on the bottom side there is a speaker, microphone, USB Type C 2.0 and SIM card slot with dual nano SIM support and vivo V50 has IP68/IP69 water/dust resistant rating.

2) vivo V50 Display

The Vivo V50 features a 6.77-inch Quad Curved AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. This display has a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 388ppi density. This display also supports HDR10+, Always On Display, and in terms of brightness, it has 1300nits HBM brightness and up to 4500nits peak brightness. If we compare this display with its predecessor Vivo V40’s display, the display is absolutely downgraded as the Vivo V40 has a 1.5K resolution and has a higher 453ppi density display which is better than the Vivo V50’s display.

3) vivo V50 Processor and Memory

The next thing we are talking about which Vivo has not upgraded is the processor, the same processor is used in its previous model Vivo V40 which is Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. This processor is an octa core processor based on 4nm architecture and has Adreno 750 GPU. Looking at the core, it has 1 core at 2.63 GHz (Cortex-A715), 3 cores at 2.4 GHz (Cortex-A715) and 4 cores at 1.8 GHz (Cortex-A510). Apart from this, Vivo has added LPDDR4X RAM type and UFS 2.2 storage type in Vivo V50.

Vivo V50 comes with the latest Funtouch OS 15 which is based on Android 15 and vivo V50 will get up to 3 major Android upgrades. Vivo has also provided AI features in Vivo V50 which are

Vivo has also added the latest Bluetooth 5.4 and WiFi 6 connectivity and it also supports NFC (market/region dependent).

6) vivo V50 Camera

Vivo v50 has two Zeiss cameras on the back in which the primary camera is 50MP OiS with Samsung JN1 sensor and the secondary camera is 50MP Zeiss ultrawide with 119° field of view and 50MP Zeiss selfie camera with 92° field of view. Vivo has also upgraded the algorithm which is the new AI 3D studio lighting algorithm which makes night portraits a lot better and Vivo mostly focuses on portrait shots with multiple focal length which makes the smartphone good at portraits. Talking about video features, you can record 4K videos at 30fps with both the back and selfie cameras and you can also record 4K videos with the ultrawide lens.
